For almost 200 years Boalsburg Village has kept its atmosphere of small-town intimacy and historic character. Located just five minutes from downtown State College and Penn State, Boalsburg offers a quiet community where housing options are many. There are new neighborhoods like Liberty Hill and Nittany Grove being built next to established communities like Kaywood, Willowbrook, the "Hill", and Tusseview Terrace. There are large estate luxury homes in communities like Huntridge Manor, Bear Meadows and Laurel Hills. Students who live in Boalsburg are enrolled in the State College Area School District.

The name Boalsburg comes from the Boal family that settled the region. Colonel Theodore Davis Boal married a descendant of Christopher Columbus. In 1909 he brought the Columbus Chapel from Spain to the Boal Mansion. Boalsburg is also home to the Pennsylvania Military Museum as well as the headquarters to the Civil War reenacting unit. Boalsburg originally was on the main road for travelers from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh, and Duffy's Tavern that housed those travelers is still open for business.
At the "Boalsburg Diamond" visitors love to stop in the museums, shops and restaurants while soaking up the small town feeling. The residents and business owners strive to maintain the town's unique personality. Claiming to be the birthplace of Memorial Day, Boalsburg puts on a traditional celebration complete with a parade, community walk to the cemetery, speeches, arts and crafts sale, military reenactments and much more. You must visit Boalsburg on Memorial Day weekend. Everyone enjoys the People's Choice Arts Festival the second week of July every year. Arts and craft vendors from all over Pennsylvania, entertaiment and of course terrific food tents. Four days of fun enjoyed by all of us in the Centte Region as well as lots of friends and family from across the state.
And last but by no means least when you are in Boalsburg and looking for some fun, visit TUSSEY MOUNTAIN SKI and Recreational Area, offering down hill skiing, a Lodge, pond for paddle boats and fishing, Par 3 golf course, go-carts, wine tasting from local vineyards and outdoor concerts.
Boalsburg is a great place to live or visit. ENJOY!
