As the name implies, 'Centre' County is directly in the Center of Pennsylvania. It is comprised of 1,112 square miles and was founded in 1800. Today almost 155,000 people call Centre County home. Bellefonte is the county seat and where you will find the County Courthouse.

Located in Benner Township, just minutes from downtown State College and Penn State, they have the flights you need to take you where you want to go. In addition to this, the Centre Area Transportation Authority (CATA) offers outstanding and affordable bus service throughout the entire region. They offer both a Community Service line and a Campus Service line. While the Campus Service line takes care of the students, faculty, staff and other employees of Penn State, the Community Service line has 20 different routes and provides service to downtown State College, the Penn State Campus, Bellefonte, Pleasant Gap, shopping centers, apartment complexes, Tussey All 4 Seasons Resort and more.
Healthcare in Centre County is quite good and services are expanding all the time. Mount Nittany Medical Center opened their new cancer pavillion in January of 2013 and provides and environment of healing along with outstanding care. The Geisinger Medical Group opened their Grays Woods multi-specialty clinic to compliment their Scenery Park location. Throughout the entire region, you will find specialists who can care for you.
