A steadily growing community lies at the foot of Nittany Mountain at the intersection of Route 64 and Route 144 on an old Indian path between Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. Interestingly, this was also the site of many old grist mills and "collier's huts" producing charcoal to feed the furnace fires in the days of iron smelting. Today, the residents of Pleasant Gap, PA are working right in their community or, with easy access to State College, Bellefonte and Lock Haven, are working in those areas. Housing offers many choices...old stylish homes line the main streets or there are newer developments and condominium living too.
