There were 590 graduates in 2012 with most of those students continuing on to post-graduate education or training. State College is a thriving and successful school district which employs outstanding educators and the district continues their excellence with staff development programs.
The State College Area School Districts enrolls students within a 150 square mile area. The average per pupil ratio for classroom teachers is 23 to 1 at the elementary level and 24 to 1 at the secondary level.
Elementary - 9 district schools instructing up to 5th grade
Middle Level which covers 6th through 8th grade is taught at 2 district schools: Mount Nittany & Park Forest.
High School is divided between 2 buildings with the 9th and 10th grade in one and the 11th and 12th grade in the other. The buildings are directly across the street from each other on Westerly Parkway. There are approximately 2500 pupils. There are more than 400 academic and vocational course to select from in this very comprehensive program.
The District's active Community Education Program offers a wide variety of learning experiences for youth and adults, ranging from basic instruction leading to a high school diploma to workforce education programs.
