So nice to meet you.
In 2007 I made one of the best decisions of my life by moving to Happy Valley. We considered many other places but fell in love with State College the first time we drove into town. I love the sense of small town…running into friends at the grocery store and children walking home from school but equally important to me is the excitement and energy that is here...broadway musicals come to town, football weekends make the town nearly burst at the seams and a ton of opportunity and diversity is brought through Penn State. It did not take long for me to call this home. Whether it looks like you may be moving to town, having to pack up and head on your next adventure, or are ready to consider your next Happy Valley home, I’d be delighted to walk alongside you. I am passionate about this place, the people, the homes and the community.
My husband, Shawn Carter and I are parents to 5 incredible kids, ages 7-17. They make us laugh, challenge us each and every day and give us great purpose. When we are not busy with real estate we love to check out local festivals, eat good food, cheer on PSU sporting events and spend time with friends and family. Some of my favorite things include the changing seasons, cooking, long walks, traveling, dancing and kettle corn…but near the top of this list is my job. I am passionate and driven to provide exceptional experiences for my clients. I recognize the importance of attention to detail; I have a strong commitment to integrity and boldly advocate for my clients through collaborative negotiations. I feel honored by the friendships that I’ve built through my business and highly value relationships. I would be honored to have the opportunity to meet you.
Driven by a love for helping people and confidence in my ability to implement and execute systems effectively, I am committed to a smooth and consistent client experience rooted in integrity.
Why Real Estate?
After years blessed as a stay-at-home mom, I began exploring the next chapter of my career. Several impactful people in my life suggested that I should consider real estate. It was appealing to me – I love people, I like details and I’ve always had interest in homes. After a bit of research and talking with a few local experts I decided it was a rather good fit. My first 5 years in Real Estate were spent learning, questioning and growing as I advocated for over 200 clients during their real estate transaction as a supporting agent. The exposure to unique situations, both challenging and rewarding was priceless. I met incredible people. I made dear friends and was able to make a small difference in their story by helping them through their transitions with confidence and integrity. In 2015 I stepped out and launched my own real estate business. Real Estate gives me the opportunity impact lives and this community, one relationship at a time. I am honored to use my gifts and passions to help others achieve their dreams. I celebrate the flexibly that my career affords me and take seriously the responsibility given me by my trusting clients. I find great reward in what I do, I believe I am making a difference and I am thankful that I have the privilege of doing what I love.

Our house in the Happy Valley was the third house we purchased, selling two, in three different states. Each time, we felt disappointed after the transaction, like we had been pressured by the agent to move too fast, or that the agent wasn't fully listening to our needs/wishes. After this last purchase with Lara Kingshipp as our agent, we realized it was possible to feel really good about the process. Lara was such a great support for our entire family during this journey, whether she was helping our two sons, under 5 years old, in and out of the car on house tours or engaging in timely and helpful communication along the way. We felt at such peace about this process the entire time, and a large part of that was due to Lara's patience, support, expertise, and friendly guidance. We are so grateful to realize we didn't have unrealistic expectations, but rather, had found the right agent. I highly recommend Lara, as she is the best realtor we have ever worked with!

My family has been blessed to have Lara assist us in the purchase of our last two homes (one in 2010 and most recently in 2014). She is simply the most kind and caring agent, putting the needs of her clients above all else. We have had two very complicated moves, but both were made so much more bearable because Lara was there to help the entire time. I recommend her to anyone looking for a caring agent in central PA.

Lara Kingshipp receives my unqualified recommendation as a Realtor.I had the pleasure of using Lara's services as a buyer's agent for a successful home search in 2013. Lara provided valuable and prompt advice and answers to my questions from the start of my search through the closing. After the closing, Lara was still always there to answer any questions that came up from me as a new homeowner in the State College area.
