State College Food Bank Distributes almost 700 Thanksgiving Meals

The State College Food Bank has a mission to provide food security, directly or indirectly, to people in Centre County, ensuring that no one in Centre County goes hungry regardless or age, race, color, ancestry, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, creed, or disability.

The Food Bank is committed to making the community a better place through their missions and programs, and their primary focus is to ensure access to healthy and nutricious food for anyone who is in need of our support and assistance.

700 residents in Centre County received a free Thanksgiving meal, to-go earlier this week. The State College Food Bank has partnered with the Central PA Food Bank, along with the State College Area High School Districy to provide families with a holiday meal.

Individuals and families pre-registered for the drive through event and will receive their turkey meal contact-free. The food bank says they wanted to reach as many people as possible this year.

The State College Food Bank consists of a volunteer Board of Directors, an Executive Director, a Business Manager, an Operations Manager, Operations Assistant, and more than 115 volunteers.
